How many types of white fish are there?

White fish are a type of fish that is often prepared and eaten as food. There are many different types of white fish available, so it’s important to know what they all look like and some of their characteristics.

Cod

Cod is a whitefish, and it’s popular all over the world. It’s also a good source of protein, omega 3 fatty acids and other nutrients that your body needs to function properly.

It’s commonly referred to as Atlantic cod, but there are several other names you may encounter: Boston blue cod or European seabass.

Pollock

Pollock is a whitefish fish, a member of the cod family and one of my favorite types to eat. It has a mild, sweet flavor that goes well with any kind of seasoning. It’s also easy to prepare and doesn’t require much cooking time at all—you can just boil or fry it!

Pollock is leaner than other types of white fish, making it an ideal choice for people trying to lose weight or who are watching their cholesterol levels. The high-quality omega-3 fatty acids found in this type of seafood help improve joint health as well as heart health; these nutrients can reduce inflammation throughout your body (which leads to better sleep).

Haddock

Haddock is a type of fish, and it’s also the common name for various species of Gadidae family. It’s a whitefish that can be found in both fresh water and marine environments. The term “haddock” refers to any member of this family, but most commonly refers to cod (Gadus morrhua).

Haddock gets its name from its reddish-brown coloration when cooked; this flesh turns bright white when cooked properly. Its mild flavor makes it ideal for many types of cooking methods including frying, baking or poaching

Flounder

Flounder is a flatfish, and it’s also white. It lives in salt water and likes to stay on the bottom of the ocean floor.

Flounders are popular because they’re delicious fish to eat, but also because they’re small enough to cook easily at home without needing to head out into the wilds of your kitchen island with a ten-foot pole and a fishing net (although if you do that, we’ll admit it might be fun).

Whiting

Whiting is a type of white fish that’s often used in fish and chips. It’s also used in casseroles, curries and other dishes like chowder. Whiting is a popular choice for fish and chip shops because it’s easy to clean, cooks fast and doesn’t taste too strong when prepared with other ingredients such as onion or garlic.

Halibut

Halibut is a flatfish that can grow to be over 1.5 metres long. It’s also known as the Greenland halibut, and can be found in shallow waters in both the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.

Halibut has a mild taste and is relatively easy to prepare; it’s often used for making fish stocks or steaks. It has been recommended by health experts because of its high protein content (45 grams per 100 grams).
